Brewing Recipe

### Hario Woodneck Basic Recipe

by [@rbrigleb](https://unpacking.coffee/users/rbrigleb) • 12:15

A classic cloth-filter pour-over method that produces a rich, full-bodied cup with more natural oils than paper-filtered coffee. The cloth filter provides excellent clarity while maintaining body.

### Ingredients

Coffee 25g Brew Amount 400g Dose Medium-fine (like fine sand) Temperature 93-95°C / 200°F Yield 1:16 Filter Cloth filter

     Step Instructions
2.

     0:00

Rinse the cloth filter with hot water to remove any flavors and preheat the dripper
3.

     0:15

0:15 Add coffee grounds to the filter and gently shake to level the bed
4.

     0:45

0:30 Start your timer and pour about 50g of water to bloom the coffee. Let it sit for 30 seconds
5.

     1:45

1:00 Continue pouring in slow circles, adding water gradually until you reach 400g total by about 3 minutes
6.

     4:45

3:00 Keep the water level steady, never too high. Maintain consistent, gentle pours
7.

     8:15

3:30 Let it drain completely — total brew time should be 3½ to 4 minutes
8.

     12:15

4:00 Swirl the carafe gently before serving to mix any settled sediment
