Peet's Coffee
Peet's Coffee is the foundational specialty coffee company founded in 1966 by Alfred Peet on Vine Street in Berkeley, California, near the UC Berkeley campus. Often called "the grandfather of specialty coffee," Peet introduced the US to darker-roasted Arabica blends and trained the founders of what would become Starbucks. Now headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area.
