The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is a Los Angeles specialty coffee company founded in September 1963 by Herbert Hyman with his wife Mona, who together honeymooned in Sweden and decided to import gourmet coffee to LA. The first retail store opened in 1968 in Brentwood, and the company grew into one of the most recognizable specialty coffee chains in the world.
