Mother Tongue Coffee is a woman- and Latinx-owned specialty coffee roaster founded in Oakland, California in 2019 by Jen Apodaca, a certified Q-Grader, 2019 US Cup Tasters Champion, and 2022 US Roasters Runner-up Champion. The brand is built on a mission of fair pay across the entire coffee supply chain, sourcing from trusted producers who share their values. Apodaca also founded the #ShesTheRoaster campaign to promote and empower women in the coffee roasting industry.
